Delete your Pipernus account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Pipernus account and the personal data we hold about you. Pipernus is operated by PIPERNUS GROUP LTD (company number 15880060, registered in England and Wales).
How to request deletion
You can delete your account in one of three ways.
Option 1 — In the app (recommended)
- Open the Pipernus app.
- Go to Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion by entering your password.
- Your account is deactivated immediately.
(If your version of the app does not yet show this option, please use Option 2 or 3 below. In-app deletion will be available in version 1.2 and later.)
Option 2 — On the web
- Visit https://www.pipernus.com/account-deletion/
- Enter the email address registered to your Pipernus account.
- Check your inbox for a confirmation email and click the verification link.
- Your request will be processed within one business day.
Option 3 — By email
Send an email from the address registered to your Pipernus account to hello@pipernus.com with the subject line “Delete my account”. We will reply to confirm your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days (normally within 2 business days).
What gets deleted
When you delete your Pipernus account, we permanently delete the following within 30 days:
- Your name, email address, password hash and profile settings.
- Your company and business profile data.
- Receipts, invoices and document images you uploaded.
- Transaction records, categorisations and notes you created.
- Chat / support history associated with your account.
- Device identifiers and in-app preferences.
- Access logs and session history.
Backup copies of this data are overwritten within 90 days of deletion.
What we must keep (and why)
Some data cannot be deleted immediately because we are legally required to retain it:

This retained data is moved to restricted, encrypted storage. It is not used for any purpose other than the legal obligation that requires retention, and it is permanently deleted when the retention period ends.
Before you delete: export your data
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Before requesting deletion we recommend that you:
- Export any receipts or accounting reports you wish to keep (Settings → Export data).
- Download any invoices you issued.
- Complete any outstanding HMRC submissions.
If you have a paid subscription, cancelling your account will terminate the subscription at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for unused portions of a monthly subscription.
Your rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), in addition to deletion (the “right to erasure”), you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Receive your data in a portable format (CSV or JSON).
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): https://ico.org.uk
